Shotwick Shooting

If your passion is game shooting then Shotwick Shooting is the place to visit. We manage Altcar Estate that was once home to the 2nd Earl of Sefton, close friend to Prince Regent George IV, and the Wirral Shoot that was the sporting estate to Lord Leverhulme of Unilever.

Situated in a country coastal location, Altcar Estate and Wirral Shoot can offer a wide variety of traditional game including mixed partridge & pheasant and duck days, alongside morning, evening and 'under the moon' goose and shooting.

Both Altcar Estate and Wirral Shoot are Sporting Clubs that are non-profit, syndicated membership shoots.

Shoot Days in Season

Due to the advantageous coastal position of the estates and prevailing winds from the Irish Sea, we can offer some of the most challenging birds available anywhere. On mixed bird day you can expect partridge and pheasant, and depending on the time of the season and drives, you may sight wild ducks, snipe and woodcock.

Simulated Game Days

During the ‘out of season’ months (usually March to June), we hold a number of Simulated Game days at both shoot locations. These clay days are ideal for keeping guns primed, practiced and ready for the game season, for novice game shooters looking to gain game experience or corporate away days. Our shoot lodge can accommodate for teams of up to 20 people, and days are usually catered (if desired).
